Lord, we thank you because when the enemy keeps on asking us to look at our past, there must be something good in the future he doesn’t want us to see. We thank you because we also don’t let him steal our joy and that is why we fight for it like we are the third monkey trying to get on Noah’s ark. You are the only one allowed to judge us because only you know the storms you have asked us to walk through. We would rather stand with you and be judged by the whole world than stand with the world and be judged by you. We thank you because you are always in control even when our circumstances seem out of control.
We thank you because you are the one who fights for us. Overwhelming victory is ours because we are yours. We thank you for there is no battle you can’t help us win. We stand strong because you are strong in us. Thank you because we know that not everything is meant for us to handle. We let go easily and let you do it simply because we trust you. We thank you because we have an intimate relationship with you, and just like any other relationship, we know it must be developed over time. We thank you because we believe you control the big things and the little things as well. We thank you because you specialize in giving people a fresh start. We thank you because you finish everything you start.
We thank you because we never forget on our best day that we still need you as desperately as we did on our worst day. We thank you because when we feel poisoned by stress, pressure, pain or failure, the best antidote is to pray. We thank you because prayer is the fastest and most powerful thing on earth. It reaches you even before we say it. We thank you because when God’s warriors go down on their knees, the battle is not over, it has just begun. We thank you because we know that prayer is not to manipulate your hand, but to get aligned with what you desire for our lives. We thank you because we pray our hearts out. We pray without ceasing. We pray over every detail. We pray expecting answers. We pray expecting you to step in. We pray so outrageously the angels of heaven take notice. We pray until you yourself send us the answers. We thank you because you are preparing us for everything we prayed for. We thank you because you are the king of our hearts. It comforts us to know that you are always interceding for us.
God, there’s nothing in this life worth worshiping but you. You are the reason we have made it this far in life. There’s no better teacher than the Holy Spirit and no better text than God’s word. We are nothing without you, we love you, and we are proud to say that.
